Adele is rolling in a deep pile of Grammy’s after last night’s 54thAnnual Awards ceremony. She grabbed wins for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Short Form Music Video.

Best Alternative Music Album went to Bon Iver, as well as the Best New Artist award. I believe awarding Best New Artist to an artist

that is outside the box would have been too scary for the Grammy’s, and Bon Iver is a safe indie music bet, but I would have loved to see Skrillex take this award; not only based on the fact that he took the music industry by storm this year, but he is an amazing performer. Skrillex did take Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album for Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, in addition to Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for Cinema (Skrillex Remix).

Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, went to Paul Epworth. This is so well deserved, as he is behind not only Adele, but Foster the People, who is A-MAZ-ING, and Cee-Lo Green, another winner of the night.

Big applause for Trey Park for taking Best Musical Theater Album for The Book of Mormon. His wit and style of humor deserves a

spotlight. Also, I had no idea they gave out an award for Best Album Notes. Good job for acknowledging the writers.

Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job honoring Whitney Houston. The loss of Whitney Houston is profound and sad, and it was really great that they were able to pull together this tribute in such a short amount of time.

I only have one small complaint about the Grammy’s this year, and it’s the Grammy’s Live on Grammy.com. The backstage coverage was awful, and I seriously wanted to rip the bad toup off John Norris’ head.  If I have to watch commercials online as well as on my tv, then I do expect a decent show. Just sayin’.
